Basil & Neroli for Jo Malone

For this shoot we purchased real trees and about a hundred basil plants. Clipped, and under hot lights, basil leaves last about thirty seconds, a minute at most, before they start to crumble. We had to shoot fast, as we wanted the images as fresh as the fragrance. We were swapping leaves like crazy, listening to our first reactions and not overthinking.
